Behind the Scenes: Creating Our Personalised Baby Christmas Baubles 🎄

There’s been a little Christmas magic happening behind the scenes at Mahle Ceramics!

While you might not have seen much of me lately, I’ve been busy getting ready for the festive season — designing moulds, slipcasting ceramic baubles and building up plenty of stock for our new personalised baby Christmas baubles.

And let me tell you… there are quite a few steps involved in getting these little beauties ready! 😅

Each bauble starts with a mould before I carefully slipcast the ceramic pieces. Once they’re cast, they need to be cleaned, dried and fired before they can be transformed into a beautiful personalised Christmas keepsake.

The finished baubles can be personalised with your little one’s name and their precious hand or footprint, creating a special baby handprint Christmas ornament that you can bring out year after year.

There’s something extra special about a baby’s first Christmas. They may not remember it, but you certainly will — and those tiny hands and feet definitely won’t stay tiny for long!

Each ceramic bauble is handmade by me here in Melbourne, from the casting process right through to the personalisation and finishing touches.

So, while they may look like a simple little Christmas decoration hanging on the tree, there’s actually a whole lot of love (and a fair bit of time) that goes into each one.
