How It Works:

Creating your unique keepsake is easy:

1. Book Your Session: Choose a convenient time to come see Marie in her Bentleigh East home studio. Marie is gentle, patient, and with over 5 years of taking prints she is very experienced with babies and children of all ages.

2. Take the Prints: Choose from a range of ceramics all professionally hand crafted by Marie. She will expertly capture those precious hand and footprints directly onto your chosen ceramic piece or in clay for an impression.

3. Crafting Your Keepsake: As an experienced ceramicist, Marie will meticulously finish, glaze, and fire your ceramic, ensuring a stunning and durable result.

4. Cherish Forever: Once the process is complete in approximately 4 weeks, pick up your finished masterpiece, ready to be displayed, loved, and admired for years to come!

Is the clay and paint safe for my baby?

All clay and ceramic paint used at Mahle Ceramics is non-toxic and safe to apply to your babies skin. As soon as the print is taken, your little ones hands and feet are cleaned to avoid transferring to your/your babies clothes. If it does get on your clothes, it comes straight out in the wash!

How old does my child need to be?

Marie has taken prints as young as five days old. There is no age limit!

Can I bring more than one child?

Yes of course! A 30 minute appointment is enough for roughly three children depending on how many pieces you plan to choose. If in doubt, please reach out so that we can reserve enough time for you. We are happy to put multiple prints on the same ceramic, provided there is space!

My baby has a strong grasp reflex, is it better to wait till they are older?

Don’t worry about your little one’s scrunched fists, Marie has plenty of experience unfurling little fingers and taking successful prints!
